Graft: How do you estimate grafts yourself before clinic quotes?

Norwood 4, I think. Temples are gone, crown is thin under bathroom light but not fully bald. I sent the same photos to six clinics. Quotes came back 3200, 4500, 5000, 3800, and one said 2500 for now.

Is there a simple way to check these numbers, or do I have to wait for an in-person consult?

Area in cm² × target density. For a natural result the usual planning range is 30–40 grafts/cm², higher at the hairline, lower on the crown. A 80 cm² area at 35/cm² is 2800 grafts. The quote is only meaningful next to the area they claim to cover.

If measuring is too much, stage ranges are the rough version. Norwood 3 is often 1500–2500, Norwood 4 about 2500–4000, Norwood 5–6 from 3500 up, sometimes split over two sessions.
