How long on finasteride before a transplant if you're still seeing some recession?

been on fin about 4 months. temples still moving a little. one clinic said they can do the transplant now, the other said better to wait until it settles more.whats the general rule for how long you should stay on it before booking surgery? is 6 months usually enough or do most places want a full year so they can see the final pattern?

most surgeons prefer at least 6 months so they know whats actually stable and what still needs covering if its still dropping fast they usually push for 12 months so the hairline doesnt have to be redone later depends how aggressive the loss is but 4 months is on the short side for a lot of them

Standard advice is 6 to 12 months on finasteride before surgery. Gives a clearer picture of the loss pattern so the design holds up better. Doing it earlier is possible but it increases the odds of needing another procedure down the line if the native hair keeps going.
