How do you actually verify that the doctor is doing the extractions, not just the techs?

A lot of clinics say the doctor is involved but it’s rarely clear what that actually means. Some places have the doctor design the hairline and open the channels while the technicians do all the punching. Others claim the doctor does the extractions too.

When you’re comparing clinics (especially ones you have to fly to), how do people normally confirm what the doctor personally does versus what the team does? Is there a specific way to ask or certain things to look for that makes the split of work clearer before you book?

just ask them straight. “who punches the grafts?” if they start talking about supervision or “the team works under the doctor” they’re dodging it. get it in writing or don’t bother.

That’s the direct version, yeah. Some clinics will still give a clean answer if you ask exactly like that and then follow up with “can you put the same wording in the plan?” Others immediately switch to “the doctor is present the whole time” or “everything is under his supervision.” At that point it’s usually clear they’re not going to confirm the doctor is the one doing the punching.

exactly. either they confirm it straight or they don’t. the rest is just filler.

Look at the daily schedule too. One doctor listed for three or four big cases the same day makes it pretty unlikely they’re doing the punching on all of them. Basic math.
