Should I start finasteride for a receding hairline?

Thinking about starting finasteride and I keep talking myself out of it. Temples have been creeping back for a couple years, crown looks worse in bathroom light than it does outside. Not ready for a transplant. Did it actually hold your hair, or did you quit because of sides?

Quit after 4 months. Libido dropped and I felt off. Hair was maybe a little better, not enough to stay on it. Back to just minoxidil now.

Month 8 and I’m still not sure. Shed for a bit, then it calmed down. Hair doesn’t look better, it also doesn’t look worse. Staying on it until the year mark because that’s what my dermatologist said.
